At Waffle Factory, we’re promoting awareness of breast cancer screening throughout October. Through an educational and tasty video, a woman dressed in a doctor’s coat and wearing the Pink Ribbon on her chest explains the importance of screening for breast cancer from an early age. Every woman and man is encouraged to pay particular attention to the health of their breasts. If you’re in any doubt about the size, appearance or discomfort of your breasts, it’s vital to consult a health professional. ⚕️
To the frenetic beat of flamenco the protagonist elegantly and seriously teaches the recommended gestures of self palpation by practising on a sweet waffle dough, the symbol of the female breast. 💃
The playful flamenco air and the woman’s dance movements bring an unconventional, offbeat touch to the scene, evoking the femininity sensuality and delicacy of the body. As she examines the dough with precision, each gesture is detailed orally in a narrative borrowed from the medical world and the world of the waffle. A parallel is also drawn between the waffle iron and the mammography machine used to screen for breast cancer 🎀

For Pink October, our Waffle Makers have concocted a sweet waffle for you: La Vie en Gaufre. This revisited Liège waffle is a tribute to the national month of action against breast cancer. To mark the occasion, Waffle Factory has pledged to donate €1 to the ARC Foundation for each La Vie en Gaufre waffle purchased. The ARC Foundation is the only French foundation dedicated solely to cancer research.
