Are you in the mood to innovate during the Halloween period and get your hands dirty to surprise your loved ones? If so, Waffle Factory has come up with two sweet and funny DIY waffle recipes to treat your friends and family on Halloween.

The spider waffle 🖤🧇

Ingredients:

For the waffle :

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/4 cup vanilla sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 3/4 cups milk
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • Black food colouring

For the topping :

  • Melted white chocolate
  • Candied cherries
  • Blackberries

To get your guests excited, start by mixing the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt in a bowl. Then take another bowl and beat the eggs with the milk and vegetable oil.

Add the dry ingredients to the liquid ingredients and mix until you have a devilishly smooth batter. Add a few drops of black food colouring to make your waffle terrifying.

Preheat your waffle iron and cook the waffles until crisp.

Once your waffles are out of the waffle iron, create a beautiful spider’s web using the melted white chocolate that you have first poached in a piping bag.🕸️

Finally, decorate your waffles with candied blood cherries and blackberries! And that’s it, you’ve just made your first Halloween recipe!

The witch’s waffle 🧙‍♀️💜

Ingredients:

For the waffle :

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/4 cup vanilla sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 3/4 cups milk
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil

For the topping :

  • 300g of mascarpone
  • 60g icing sugar
  • Purple food colouring (or 5 drops of blue colouring + 5 drops of red colouring)
  • Violet flavouring (optional)
  • Blue and purple sugar pearls for pastries

Dear sorcerer, as for the Spider Waffle, start by mixing all the dry ingredients in one bowl and all the liquid ingredients in another.

Then combine these two preparations until you have a smooth mixture.

Once your waffle batter is ready, it’s time to create a little magic for your bewitched waffles!

Place a bowl and the beaters of your electric mixer in the freezer for 20 minutes. Then whisk in the mascarpone, icing sugar, flavouring and purple food colouring.

Dear wizard, don’t worry if your whipped cream becomes runny before it reaches a firm texture (it’s the magic working!).

Cook your waffles in the waffle iron until crisp and golden brown.

Poach each of your waffles with the purple whipped cream, to give your waffle a magical cauldron effect. Finally, add purple and blue sugar pearls as a topping!

And then… Abracadabra! You’ve just created the most evil Halloween recipe ever! 💜
