The Witch Queen has cast a spell on our Waffle Makers to steal quick and easy waffle recipes that are as delicious as they are scary. So, are you ready to concoct waffles that will cast a spell on your taste buds and bewitch your guests?

Halloween waffles: a feast for the senses

Waffles are the very embodiment of conviviality and indulgence. As they take on the spirit of Halloween, they become a real sensory experience. Imagine yourself enjoying a traditional waffle, a crispy waffle, a fluffy waffle… where every mouthful is an invitation to a journey into darkness. Is your mouth watering? Well, so are ours!

So let’s get down to business and find out what the Witch Queen has stolen from our Waffle Makers.

Nightmare Pumpkin Waffle

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup pumpkin purĂ©e
  • 1 3/4 cups milk
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil

Preparation :

  • In a large bowl, mix the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and spices.
  • In another bowl, beat the eggs, then add the pumpkin purĂ©e, milk and vegetable oil. Mix well.
  • Add the liquid ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until you have a smooth paste.
  • Preheat your waffle iron and cook the waffles until golden and crisp.
  • Serve hot with butter and maple syrup

For an even more nightmarish effect from your pumpkin waffle, try the savoury version, remove the sugar and add a few inches of spinach and a tomato coulis.

The Bewitching Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 250 g wheat flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 25 cl milk
  • 50 g melted butter
  • 1 sachet baking powder
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon powder
  • 1 teaspoon liquid vanilla
  • Food colourings (orange, green, black

Preparation :

  • In a large bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, sugar, cinnamon and salt.
  • Add the eggs, milk, vanilla and melted butter. Mix until smooth.
  • Divide the dough into three equal parts. Add the food colouring to obtain orange, green and black dough.
  • Preheat your waffle iron and pour in the coloured batter of your choice.
  • Leave to cook until the waffles are golden brown and crisp.

For the more daring and professional cooks, Reine Sorcière recommends using whipped cream to create ghost or witch designs. You can also sprinkle with icing sugar for a mystical mist effect or add chocolate chips to form the eyes of your bewitched waffle.
